HOPE: Hoarding Overcome through Perseverance and EarnestnessThis group formed at the kickoff meeting of OCD TEXAS in Austin, Texas, in October 2010. At that meeting we agreed to continue to support each other through online contact and in-person meetings in the Austin area. OCD TEXAS continues to offer us support, advocacy and professional guidance, and we participate in OCD TEXAS conferences.
Welcome to the website of the Austin Hoarding Support Group.
Our mission is to help each other make progress in reducing our hoarding behaviors and increasing healthy behaviors and in so doing improve the quality of our lives.
We meet every Tuesday, 7:00-8:30pm, at Red River Church in Room 4. We are currently working through two books, both by Cindy Glovinsky: Making Peace with the Things in Your Life and One Thing at a Time. In January, 2015 we will start the workshop based on the book Buried in Treasures by David Tolin, Randy O. Frost, & Gail Steketee.
On Tuesday, September 30, 2014, we will have Randi Lyman, CPO-CD, Owner of A Helping Hand, Professional Organizing Service come talk to the group. She will be joined by Robert Seidel, MSSW, LCSW, and Debbie Stanley, MA, MS, LPC, NCC, CPO-CD, therapist and professional organizer, Owner of Thoughts in Order, http://thoughtsinorder.com. Come enjoy and participate in our open forum.
