HOPE: Hoarding Overcome through Perseverance and Earnestness
Welcome to the website of the Austin Hoarding Support Group.
Our mission is to help each other make progress in reducing our hoarding behaviors and increasing healthy behaviors and in so doing improve the quality of our lives.
This group formed at the kickoff meeting of OCD TEXAS in Austin, Texas, in October 2010. At that meeting we agreed to continue to support each other through online contact and in-person meetings in the Austin area. OCD TEXAS continues to offer us support, advocacy and professional guidance, and we participate in OCD TEXAS conferences.
We have been meeting regularly on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month, 7:00-8:30pm, at Cafe Express, but we are taking a break after completing our peer-facilitated study/support group in September 2012. We will resume again either later this fall or in January 2013.
Please join us for Special Evening on Hoarding Disorder on Tuesday, Oct 9, 2012, as part of the OCD Film Festival, in conjunction with OCD Awareness Week. Co-sponsored by OCD TEXAS, we will be showing the film, "Stuffed" at Red River Church, 4425 Red River Street, Austin, TX 78751. See details here.
We will also be participating in the Austin Oct 13 OCD TEXAS conference during OCD Awareness Week, Members of our group will be available to answer questions all that day, and we will have a special support group that afternoon. So please join us there also.
